Ighalo Reveals Why Joined Another Club In China Rather Than In Europe. Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has revealed that European club sides could not afford his buy out clause as the reason for opting for another Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua. Ighalo told TheCable his buy out clause was €40 million ($45.2 million) at the Chinese side Changchun Yatai. He also admitted that reuniting with his former Watford FC of England coach, Quique Sanchez Flores, help made the decision easier. The Super Eagles forward joined the three-time CSL champions on a three-year deal. “I had a buy out clause and it was difficult for the Europe teams to pay that so I had to stay in China and choose Shenhua,” Ighalo told TheCable. “What also formed my decision to stay back in China is because of my former coach Flores. “He wanted me to join the club all along and I am happy that he made it possible to work with him again. Tinubu Reacts To President Buhari’s Vow Of Death For Ballot Box Snatchers. The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari never ordered security agencies to shoot Nigerians summarily. Speaking with journalists in Abuja at the end of the APC caucus meeting, he said the President was misinterpreted. He said that the President at the meeting only reinforced that those involved in ballot box snatching will be doing it at the risk of their lives. Buhari Issues Serious Warning To Ballot Box Snatchers Ahead Of Saturday 23rd Elections. President Buhari has warned that anybody involved in ballot box snatching during the February 23rd and March 6th general elections will pay with his or her live. Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus meeting in Abuja on Monday morning, February 18th, President Buhari said that an unlawful act such as ballot snatching will not be tolerated. He added that he has given the police and the military instructions to be ruthless with anyone that would want to cause trouble at polling units. I have briefed the law enforcement agencies. Soldiers And Villagers Killed As Gunmen Invade Village In Katsina State. Photos Unknown gunmen yesterday killed three civilians and one military officer at Kasai villag, 10 kilometres to Batsari town in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. The incident, which happened around 1.00am, also reportedly left scores injured and over 200 cows rustled. It was gathered that the bandits stormed the village, shooting sporadically just as the residents engaged them. The army was said to have later intervened. Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the state police command, Gambo Isah, said the bandits who came from Rugu forest, invaded the village before laying ambush for the military and killed the officer. He said the Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, had since visited the place to condole with the community and sympathise with the injured. Chemistry Teacher Got Sacked After Showing Children Cartoon Pornography In Class. A Chemistry teacher has been sacked after she allowed pupils to watch a cartoon in which Shrek has sex with an orphan. Claire Thompson used her school computer to share the pornographic clips in her classroom. The video was watched pupils, aged either 16 or 17, at Queen Anne High School, Dunfermline, Fife. Teaching staff were made aware of the incident when a pupil reported the clips to the Deputy Headteacher. According to the General Teaching Council for Scotland, the depute head said: “They were worse than she expected. She was clear that they were inappropriate, sexual and paedophilic.” When confronted, the deputy headteacher said Ms Thompson was “was defiant and confrontational, saying that it was the school’s fault, the previous teacher’s fault, the kids’ fault”. ‘We don’t kill witches in Benin Kingdom’ Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Chief David Edebiri, has said that confessed witches or wizards in the Kingdom are not killed or stigmatized but rehabilitated back into the society. The Esogban who is regarded as the Odionwere (Head) of witches and wizards said the powers to dispossess witches of their powers are derived from the Oba of Benin Speaking while addressing members of African Bar Association on certain aspects of BĂ©nin culture, Chief Edebiri stated that witches are made ineffective and accepted back to the society after going through certain processes. Buhari Promises Adequate Security For Poll President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to provide adequate security to guarantee the conduct of the forthcoming general election in the country. Buhari made the promise on Wednesday in Makurdi during the Presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Aper Aku Stadium. He appealed to the electorate not to be intimidated by turning out massively to vote for APC candidates at all levels during the election. The president said the APC was the only party that has the capacity and political will to tackle challenges in the country.
